DUI Arrest Made After Traffic Stop on Deshields Court

Location: Deshields Court Stafford VA
Time: July 16, 7:47 p.m.

A reported drunk driver led to an arrest Thursday evening after a Stafford County deputy observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Deshields Court.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Lee located the vehicle after responding to the complaint and initiated a traffic stop. The driver reportedly showed several signs of impairment, including glassy eyes, slurred speech, and an unsteady balance.

Investigators said the driver refused to perform field sobriety tests and declined to provide a preliminary breath sample. During the investigation, deputies located alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle. At the Sheriff’s Office, the driver again refused to submit to a breath test, resulting in additional charges. The driver later admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day.

Carolina Alfaro Reyes, 38, of Woodbridge, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to testing, failure to wear a seatbelt, and a traffic lane violation. Alfaro Reyes was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

As with all criminal charges, the allegations remain pending until proven in court.
