A driver who claimed the traffic light was green and insisted he didn’t drink due to religious beliefs was arrested after running a red light on Warrenton Road near Village Parkway. Deputy A.M. Oliveira observed the Hyundai proceed through the red light and initiated a traffic stop. During the interaction, the driver showed signs of impairment and admitted to smoking marijuana before driving. He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to obey a traffic light. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
