Early Morning DUI Arrest on Richards Ferry Road in Stafford

Location: Richards Ferry Road Stafford VA
Time: 3:14 a.m.

A self-reported crash on Richards Ferry Road led to a DUI arrest in the early morning hours of March 24.

Deputies responded after the driver claimed their tires had blown out, causing the vehicle to veer into a ditch. Upon arrival, the deputy observed clear signs of impairment, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol.

The driver admitted to consuming five alcoholic drinks earlier in the day, and alcoholic beverages were found both on their person and inside the vehicle. After failing field sobriety testing and providing a breath sample above the legal limit, the driver was taken into custody.

Delante Joiner, 24, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain control. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
