Two males attempted to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill at Panera Bread, but staff quickly identified it as fake. Both suspects fled on foot, but Deputy N.J. Amato, already nearby, apprehended one of them. Although the suspect claimed he didn’t eat at Panera, surveillance footage proved otherwise. He was charged with conspiracy of uttering and is being held without bond. The second suspect remains at large.
