Deputy T.K. Phillips responded to a failed fraud. The victim advised he received a call from “Simon.” Simon falsely claimed he worked for Microsoft’s Security Department and the victim’s account had been hacked. To fix the problem, the victim would need to deposit money into a different bank account. When the victim explained the situation to his bank teller, they informed him of the scam and to not comply.
