A Stafford resident reported becoming the victim of identity fraud after someone allegedly opened a financial account using their personal information.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect attempted to withdraw funds from the account but was unsuccessful. Investigators said the fraudulent account was opened at an out-of-state bank.
The case remains under investigation.
