Fredericksburg Man Arrested for DUI on Warrenton Road

Location: Warrenton Road, Stafford VA
Time: August 9, 8:28 p.m.

A 39-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested following a traffic stop on Warrenton Road after a deputy observed a vehicle allegedly failing to maintain its lane.

Deputy Wagner attempted to stop the vehicle, but it did not initially pull over and continued through a red light before entering a nearby Advance Auto Parts parking lot.

The driver reportedly displayed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Deputies also observed open alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle, including one in the center cup holder.

Field sobriety tests were administered, but the driver refused to provide a breath sample at the scene. A later breath sample at the Sheriff’s Office showed a blood alcohol content above the legal limit, according to the report.

Ricardo Garcia Cobix, 39, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, a traffic lane violation and failure to obey traffic lights. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
