Deputy Edwards and Sergeant Leckemby responded to reports of a vehicle driving erratically at varying speeds on Garrisonville Road.
Upon contact, deputies observed multiple open cans of alcohol in the back seat. The driver displayed signs of impairment, including confusion, balance issues, and the odor of alcohol. Although initially denying alcohol consumption, the driver failed field sobriety testing and later provided a breath sample confirming intoxication.
Jason Watkins, 34, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drinking while operating a motor vehicle. Watkins was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
