Sergeant McCann and Deputy Jenkins responded to a report of a person asleep on a bench outside Target on South Gateway Drive. Deputies observed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and the odor of alcohol.
Sean Bernard, 43, of Fredericksburg, admitted to drinking earlier in the day and was charged with public intoxication.
