Fredericksburg Police Identify and Arrest Suspects in Gates Street Shooting

Earlier this month, Fredericksburg Police arrested and charged two suspects involved in a May 9th shooting that injured one person. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the Fredericksburg Police Department E-911 Center received a call from a man reporting he had been shot by an unknown person in the 400 block of Gates Street. Patrol officers responded promptly and provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived.

Darrien Wright, 20, of Spotsylvania, faces charges of aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and false identification to law enforcement. A juvenile male, 17, also from Spotsylvania, has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Both suspects are currently held without bond.
