Fredericksburg police are investigating two alarming incidents that occurred on January 20, 2025, in the 1100 block of Townsend Boulevard. Around 6:07 p.m., the E-911 Center received multiple reports of gunfire.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered a breaking and entering incident at one of the apartments in the area. Several items were stolen. While canvassing the complex, police found a bullet lodged in the kitchen cabinet of a separate apartment.
Witnesses reported seeing a group of young Black men running from the building and driving southbound on Emancipation Highway shortly after a gunshot was heard. However, no one witnessed the actual shot being fired.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either incident. At this time, it remains unclear if the two events are connected.
