Two Fredericksburg teens are behind bars after an armed robbery at the Navy Federal Credit Union on Fall Hill Avenue Thursday evening.
According to police, the 18-year-old victim thought he was meeting two people to make a purchase. Instead, the suspects convinced him to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash. After the victim handed over the money, one of the suspects pulled a gun and threatened him before speeding away.
A quick response from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office led to the suspects’ arrest. Deputies stopped the car shortly after the robbery and detained both individuals until Fredericksburg detectives arrived.
Rasheed Johnson and Nyrique Lewis, both 18 and from Fredericksburg, are being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
