Deputies are investigating a fraud case after a Stafford resident reported their email account had been hacked, leading to unauthorized purchases.
According to investigators, the victim discovered multiple fraudulent transactions tied to various businesses after their email account was compromised.
The victim contacted the businesses involved, which closed the affected accounts, and also updated account credentials. Deputies advised the victim to cancel any compromised payment cards as a precaution.
