Deputy Martinez responded to a hit-and-run complaint at the Papa John’s on Garrisonville Road on February 19.
The victim reported their vehicle had been sideswiped in the parking lot, leaving the passenger-side mirror bent and damaged. After reviewing security footage, Deputy Martinez documented the damage and located the suspected driver’s residence.
The deputy made contact with the suspect’s wife before speaking with the suspect, who stated they did not feel any impact and were unsure whether the damage was preexisting. There were no signs of impairment.
A warrant was obtained, and 31-year-old Lisandro Benitez-Machua of Stafford was charged with one count of misdemeanor hit and run on unattended property.
