Hit and Run with a Fire Hydrant on Poplar Road

Location: Poplar Road and Chriswood Lane, Stafford VA
Time: July 12, 10:00 p.m.

An 18-year-old driver was arrested following a hit-and-run incident where his Toyota collided with a fire hydrant. Although the driver fled the scene, he left his car and driver’s license behind. Deputy I.E. Baldi located the suspect nearby, who admitted to the crash and said he had been drinking beer all day. He was charged with DUI (BAC between .15 and .2), illegal alcohol consumption, and hit and run. He is being held on a $2,500 secured bond.
