A King George man was arrested on multiple charges after a Stafford County deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed early Tuesday morning.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop after witnessing the speeding vehicle. During the stop, the driver displayed signs of impairment, including unsteady hands and dilated pupils.
Field sobriety tests were administered, and the driver provided a preliminary breath sample. After being transported to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver refused additional testing, resulting in an additional charge.
The driver was identified as 43-year-old John Thomas of King George. He was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, and refusal to submit to testing.
