Deputies Delaney and Stamm responded to a reported crash involving an e-bike near Onville Road and Worth Avenue. Authorities said the driver was found lying in the grass near the damaged e-bike.
Deputies reported the driver showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol, and difficulty standing. While receiving medical attention from Fire and Rescue personnel, the driver admitted to drinking several alcoholic beverages earlier in the day.
The suspect declined field sobriety testing and was arrested. A breath sample later obtained at the Sheriff’s Office reportedly indicated a blood alcohol content above the legal limit.
The driver was identified as Ryan Strother, 25, of King George. Strother was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
