A 33-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested after a deputy observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane near Jacobs Lane and Warrenton Road.
The Sheriff’s Office said the driver displayed glassy eyes and slurred speech and admitted consuming alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered, and a breath sample was obtained. An open alcoholic beverage was also located inside the vehicle.
A subsequent breath sample at the Sheriff’s Office showed the driver’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit, according to the report.
Carlos Madrigal Najarro, 33, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while operating a motor vehicle and a traffic lane violation. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
