The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported license plate theft after a resident discovered that the plates on their vehicle had been replaced with plates that did not belong to it.
Deputy Buzzard responded to Town and Country Drive on October 15 to investigate the complaint.
The vehicle owner reported noticing that the vehicle was displaying unfamiliar license plates.
Deputy Buzzard examined the vehicle, confirmed that the plates did not belong to it and removed them.
The deputy advised the victim to contact the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain replacement plates.
No suspects have been identified.
