A Fredericksburg man was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance at the Stafford County Courthouse.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Pettegrue responded after the suspect was observed yelling obscenities inside the courthouse and failing to follow police directions.
The suspect was arrested and allegedly attempted to resist while being detained, resulting in an additional charge. Once inside a patrol vehicle, he also allegedly attempted to damage the vehicle’s rear window.
The suspect was identified as Christopher Beckner Jr., 29, of Fredericksburg. He was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
