Deputies responding to an alarm call at Hampton Oaks Elementary School late Wednesday night made an arrest after discovering a driver wanted out of Maryland.
When deputies arrived at the school on Northhampton Boulevard, they checked the property for signs of forced entry. During the investigation, a vehicle was seen leaving the area and was subsequently stopped by deputies.
After identifying the driver, authorities determined the individual was wanted in Maryland for failing to appear in court. The driver was identified as Luis Cambry-Mendez, 24, of Woodford.
Cambry-Mendez was charged as a fugitive from justice and transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held without bond.
