A New York man was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance at a Stafford Wawa.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the convenience store after reports of a suspicious individual. During the investigation, employees told deputies the man had attempted to strike a worker, and surveillance video confirmed the incident.
Deputies reported the suspect displayed multiple signs of intoxication, and alcoholic beverages were found in his possession.
The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Michael Drozdowicz of Lynbrook, New York, was charged with public intoxication and simple assault and battery. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober and was also trespassed from the store.
