One Injured in Fredericksburg Aggravated Assault Investigation

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Fredericksburg police are searching for three masked suspects after a violent assault Monday night in the 600 block of Kenmore Avenue.

According to the Fredericksburg Police Department, officers were called to the area around 9:05 p.m. on May 18 after reports of shots fired. Investigators say three victims were threatened at gunpoint and physically assaulted after the suspects entered an establishment along Kenmore Avenue.

During the assault, at least one shot was fired. Police said no one was struck by gunfire, but one victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The other two victims were treated at the scene and later released.

After the attack, the suspects fled on foot toward Jackson Street. A K9 unit searched the area but was unable to locate them.

Police described one suspect as a male wearing white and red gloves, black pants, a black or gray hoodie, a white mask, and white tennis shoes. No additional descriptions were released for the other two suspects.

Investigators also clarified that an incorrect business name was initially released during the early stages of the investigation. Police later stated the previously identified business was not connected to the incident and that the assault happened elsewhere along the 600 block of Kenmore Avenue.

The investigation remains active, and Fredericksburg police are asking nearby residents and businesses to check security camera footage recorded between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 18 near Kenmore Avenue and Jackson Street. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Fredericksburg Police Department.
