Deputy Baldi responded to a rollover crash on Stony Hill Drive after reports indicated a vehicle had overturned and was blocking the roadway.
Investigators said the driver displayed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol. Alcoholic beverages were also reportedly found inside the vehicle.
Authorities later determined the vehicle registration had expired, the vehicle lacked insurance, and the suspect was not authorized to operate the vehicle. Testing at the Sheriff’s Office reportedly showed the driver’s blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit.
Philip Spindle Jr., 22, of Manassas Park, was charged with driving under the influence, unauthorized use of a vehicle, expired registration, driving without insurance, and reckless driving. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
