A Stafford resident was tricked into sending $750 in Green Dot MoneyPak cards to a scammer posing as “Captain Amon” from the Supreme Court. The caller falsely claimed the victim missed jury duty and would be arrested unless fines were paid immediately. After complying, the victim realized it was a scam and contacted law enforcement. Deputy Harding is investigating.
