A Stafford resident avoided losing money after discovering their bank card information had been stolen earlier in the day, according to authorities. Deputy Harding responded to the complaint on Toliver Lane and learned the victim had already spotted two unauthorized charges.
The victim contacted the businesses involved as well as their bank, leading to the transactions being canceled. A third attempted purchase was later declined after the bank froze the account.
No money was lost in the incident. Deputy Harding gave the victim his contact information in case additional fraudulent activity appears.
