Reckless Driving Incident Linked to Armed Robbery in Fredericksburg

The Fredericksburg Police Department responded to reports of reckless driving and an armed robbery on Halloween night, around 8:30 p.m. The incidents, which took place on Idlewild Boulevard and Farrish Lane, were soon linked by the responding officers.

The robbery involved two teenagers who were trick-or-treating. They were approached by five individuals wearing masks, two of whom displayed firearms and demanded the teenagers’ shoes. After the teenagers complied, the suspects fled in a Honda Civic. In their escape, they struck a parked vehicle on Idlewild Boulevard. Neighbors who saw the incident were able to stop the car at a nearby roundabout, but the suspects fled on foot, leaving only the driver behind.

The driver, a 15-year-old girl, has been detained. She faces charges including reckless driving, improper backing, driving without a license, robbery, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Although there were initial reports of gunfire during the incident, police did not find any evidence of shots being fired. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
