Deputy B. E. Vaughn responded to a series of past-occurred shoplifting incidents at Target. The store’s loss prevention staff reported that a woman had skip-scanned merchandise in at least eight separate incidents between October 2025 and January 19, 2026. The suspect, identified as Daniela Maldonado, 42, of Stafford, was seen scanning select items while bagging others without payment. After locating her vehicle and confirming her identity, Deputy Vaughn charged Maldonado with eight counts of shoplifting. She was booked at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
