Deputies responded to a disturbance at a Wawa on Warrenton Road involving a suspected shoplifter known to staff. Employees reported prior thefts and disruptive behavior from the same individual.
Surveillance footage confirmed the suspect selected two items but only paid for one at the self-checkout before leaving the store. Investigators also linked the suspect to a similar theft at the same location just days earlier on April 22.
Authorities later located the suspect at her residence, where she was arrested without incident. She was identified as 38-year-old Christine Hostetter of Fredericksburg and charged with two counts of petit larceny. Hostetter was granted a secured bond.
