A resident reported receiving a scam call from someone falsely claiming to represent the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The caller instructed the victim to purchase and send gift cards to avoid arrest. Some funds were transferred before the victim realized the scheme and ended the call. No suspects have been identified.
