Deputy B. E. Vaughn responded to a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred the previous day at Target. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect loading items into a cart, including a soundbar, while a female accomplice scanned some but not all items—excluding the soundbar—before leaving the store. Roughly an hour later, the male suspect returned and walked out with an unpaid television. Investigation identified the suspects as Jordan Thorne, 32, and Rania Taylor, 28, both of Fredericksburg. Thorne was found attempting to pawn the stolen television and had already pawned the soundbar. Both individuals were arrested and charged with shoplifting and obtaining money by false pretenses, then released on unsecured bond.
