Deputy Ramos conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with expired registration tags near Ramoth Church Road and Dog Patch Lane.
During the investigation, the driver allegedly admitted to narcotics use and having illegal items in the vehicle. Authorities said the suspect became combative when asked to exit the vehicle and attempted to flee.
Deputies reported the suspect tried to grab tasers from officers’ holsters, ripped at a deputy’s radio microphone, and bit Deputy Ramos on the finger before finally being restrained. Investigators later located narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Brandon Blackburn, 39, of Stafford, was charged with possession of Schedule I or II controlled substances, obstruction of justice, two counts of attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer. Blackburn was held without bond.
