Deputy Perkins responded to a larceny complaint at the Wawa convenience store.

The suspect allegedly threatened to hit store staff and left the scene on foot. Upon contact, the suspect failed to follow directions and showed signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol. The individual admitted to taking items but initially claimed they were from Dollar Tree.

Store staff confirmed the stolen merchandise—sodas, chips, and candy—belonged to Wawa. Further investigation revealed the suspect also had outstanding warrants.

Kadijah Hix, 53, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with public intoxication, shoplifting, and obstruction of justice. Hix was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
