Suspect Apprehended in Multiple Vehicle Tampering Incidents in Fredericksburg

In the early hours of Friday, December 15th, Fredericksburg Police Department responded to a flurry of calls from concerned residents of the Preserve at Smith Run neighborhood. These calls, which started around 5:30 a.m., reported a male figure meddling with vehicles in the area.

Eyewitness accounts, bolstered by video surveillance, described the suspect as a black male, clothed in dark attire, and distinguishable by a blue bandanna. In a swift response, Officer Funez, part of the Fredericksburg Police, located an individual matching this description near the reported incidents.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Davone Addison of Fredericksburg, was arrested following these observations. Addison is now facing multiple charges, including five counts of vehicle tampering, seven counts of unauthorized entry into motor vehicles, and two counts of larceny.

As of now, Davone Addison is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. He has been denied bond, indicating the severity with which local law enforcement is treating this string of vehicle-related offenses. This incident underscores the vigilance of the Fredericksburg community and the swift action of the local police in addressing such disturbances.
