Deputy Oliveira-Hernandez responded to a larceny complaint involving a stolen wallet left in an Uber vehicle.
The victim reported that their child had taken an Uber to work and accidentally left a wallet in the vehicle. The Uber driver later picked up another passenger who claimed the wallet belonged to them when questioned by the driver.
The wallet contained personal identification and several bank cards. Fortunately, no fraudulent charges were reported. The victims notified their financial institutions and cancelled the cards. Attempts to contact Uber directly were unsuccessful. No suspect has been identified.
