A man wanted on outstanding warrants was taken into custody Thursday night on Falmouth Drive after deputies received information about his whereabouts.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Charoenthep responded to the area and located the suspect, who was wanted by authorities in Spotsylvania County. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly made threatening statements toward deputies, leading to additional charges.
Deputies also reported finding suspected narcotics in the man’s pockets during a search.
Robert Kiger, 40, of Fredericksburg, was charged with possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance and obstruction of justice. He was also served with the outstanding warrants from Spotsylvania County. Kiger was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The charges are allegations, and Kiger is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
