Deputy I. E. Baldi was dispatched to the Walmart on Village Parkway after a report of shoplifting. A female suspect was seen concealing several items and leaving the store without paying. Loss Prevention provided a description, and Deputy Baldi located the suspect in the parking lot with the stolen merchandise.
The suspect, identified as Mary Merchant, 52, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
