STAFFORD, VA — A 40-year-old Fredericksburg woman was arrested following a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart on Washington Square Plaza.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was observed concealing merchandise and attempting to pass all points of sale without paying. The store’s Loss Prevention team stopped her.
Deputies said their initial investigation revealed the suspect had previous larceny and shoplifting charges. When contacted by a deputy, she admitted to shoplifting and was arrested.
The suspect was identified as Tabatha Weathers, 40, of Fredericksburg. Weathers was charged with shoplifting and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
All merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.
